the flyamigo team
Lucas Soler
Lucas started paragliding in 2014, and has 600+ hours of airtime in Mexico, Colombia, Spain, Italy, France, Switzerland, and the United States. He's a "P4 Advanced" rated pilot with USHPA (United States Hand Gliding and Paragliding Association), and also rated IPPI Level 5. In February 2026, he received USHPA's Silver Safety Award, for demonstrating a commitment to safety over his flying career.
Like in the corporate world Lucas left behind, he prefers team accomplishments over individual ones: he rather paraglide XC (cross country) with friends, over pursuing personal distance records alone. Whether he's hollering a "woot woot" sharing a thermal with you, or chewing his way through local cuisine, he optimizes for fun. And that's why he created flyamigo (as the name suggests): to fly farther and have fun with friends in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Lucas was born in Barcelona, Spain, and has peppered the U.S. East Coast for over five decades. He speaks English and Spanish natively.

Sam Freireich
Sam began paragliding in the 1990s, quickly developing a deep appreciation for the freedom and challenge of flight. After a break to raise his children, he returned to the sport in recent years with renewed focus and commitment. Now retired, he dedicates his time fully to flying, logging over 500 hours in the past year alone and completing several impressive cross-country flights, including the UK C Wing record.
Following a 30-year career in the fire service, Sam brings a strong foundation in risk awareness and decision-making to his role as a guide. Combining extensive experience with current flying currency and a calm, measured approach, he supports clients in progressing safely and confidently. His aim is simple: to share exceptional flying experiences while making sound decisions in the air.
