about Lucas & flyamigo
I learned to paraglide in Vermont in 2014. I'm a "P4 Advanced" rated pilot with USHPA (United States Hand Gliding and Paragliding Association), which is equivalent to the IPPI SafePro Para 5.
I'm a conservative pilot that values plenty of risk margin, and have over 600 hours of airtime in Mexico, Colombia, Spain,and the United States. In February 2026, I received USHPA's Silver Safety Award, for demonstrating a commitment to safety over the years.
I always prefer to paraglide XC with friends, over pursuing personal distance records solo. Whether I'm hollering a "woot woot" as we share a thermal, or chewing my way through local cuisine, I know that the best pilots are the ones having the most fun. And that's exactly why I created flyamigo (as the name suggests): to fly farther and optimize fun with friends in a supportive and collaborative environment.
I was born in Barcelona, Spain, and have peppered the U.S. East Coast for over four decades. I speak English and Spanish, both natively.
